Cricket: Australian wicket keeper, Alex Carey has opened up for the first time on the controversial stumping of Jonny Bairstow.

Cricket writers Lawrence Booth and Nick Hoult released an excerpt from their soon-to-be-published book ‘Bazball:, where Bairstow opened up about arguably the biggest moment in one of the greatest Ashes series of all time.

“It wouldn’t come into my mind, you know, because you’re stood in your crease. If you’re starting in your crease, then it wouldn’t even enter my mind to do that,” Bairstow said. Bairstow was controversially run out on day five of the second Ashes test after Australian keeper Alex Carey hit the stumps just as the English batsman had left his crease to walk to the middle of the pitch at the end of the over.
