JOHOR BARU: More than 50,000 Form Five and Form Six students from 234 secondary schools in Johor returned to school Wednesday (June 24), after being closed for more than three months due to Covid-19.
Johor education, information, heritage and culture committee chairman Mazlan Bujang said that the schools were fully prepared to receive the students and all standard operating procedure has been placed in accordance with the regulations imposed by the Health Ministry.
"Temperature checks are conducted on students and teachers upon entering the school gate, their attendance is recorded and they are required to observe the social distancing order," he said during a press conference at SMK Seri Perling here on Wednesday. "Each teacher has been provided with the SOP guideline book and they are required to remind their students every day before the class starts.
Meanwhile, in another matter, Mazlan informed that schools that have been turned into a temporary relief centre would not be shut down and the teaching and learning process will go on as usual.
