The Thai media company that owns the Miss Universe beauty pageant brand said on Thursday it has filed for bankruptcy while it tries to resolve a 'liquidity problem'.
KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being convicted for corruption on Thursday , Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman still made a point of attend the Parliament sitting later in the evening,Approached by reporters, Syed Saddiq said he came to Parliament despite a hectic day because it is still his duty as an MP.
Earlier Thursday morning, Syed Saddiq was sentenced to seven years in jail, a RM10mil fine, and two strokes of the cane for charges of abetting in criminal breach of trust , misappropriation of funds and money laundering. Syed Saddiq was charged with abetting former Armada assistance treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali who was entrusted with RM1mil of Armada’s funds, to commit CBT by misappropriating the funds.
