Mark your calendars: Isuzu Philippines will be launching the refreshed D-Max and it’s slated for April 21., the commercial vehicle leader will be making it a two-for-one event with the official Philippine launch of the 2023 D-Max as well on April 21 at the Isuzu Summer Music Festival.
Of course, for car enthusiasts, the main highlight is the arrival of the refreshed Isuzu models, particularly the D-Max. The 2023 D-Max will gain updates first found in other countries, most notably the “Double Dimension” front grille. This integrates a two-tone design, in black chrome and gray, to give their pickup truck a sportier look. New 18-inch “Robust Radius” alloy wheels adds an even more aggressive tone to its look as well. These complement the other features found in the D-Max such as the bi-LED headlights, two-tone front bumper guard, integrated rear bumper, and “Dual Sonic” LED taillights.
As for mechanical changes, don’t expect anything drastic. The 2023 D-Max will continue with the same 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX engine with 190 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. No news on whether it’ll get an Electronic Differential Lock for 2023, but off-road enthusiasts will surely hope so given its mechanical twin, the Mazda BT-50, has it as standard since it arrived last year.
