Isu Video Georgetown Festival 2024, Teo Nie Ching Mohon Tidak Jadikan Ia Sebagai Isu Perkauman

Menurut Timbalan Menteri Komunikasi itu, perbuatan sebegitu hanya akan mengeruh dan boleh menyebabkan berlakunya ketegangan kaum.

Baru-baru ini kecoh di media sosial mengenai video promosi Georgetown Festival 2024. Ia berikutan dakwaan berhubung tiada elemen budaya masyarakat Melayu yang ditonjolkan dalam video tersebut.

Namun, permohonan itu disifatkan oleh segelintir pihak sebagai satu kesilapan yang tidak sepatutnya berlaku. Menurut Teo, masyarakat khususnya pengguna media sosial berhak bersuara dalam menyatakan pendapat dan rasa ketidakpuasan hati mereka berhubung isu berkenaan namun tidak boleh terlalu keterlaluan.“Seperti apa yang kami selalu tegaskan, rakyat jelata mempunyai hak untuk mengkritik sesuatu isu tetapi jangan sampai tahap yang melampau.

“Mungkin kesilapan berlaku di pihak penganjur tetapi jangan sampai tahap menjadi isu perkauman yang tidak betul, jadilah seorang netizen yang bertanggungjawab dan jangan salah guna kemudahan disediakan.
