A 2022 graduate of Villanova University with majors in communication and political science, he has previous journalism experience with the Center Square and as a fellow with the National Journalism Center. Rep. Shri Thanedar announced he is renouncing his membership with the Democratic Socialists of America after the New York City branch promoted an antisemitic rally on Sunday following a Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.

"There is no place for moral equivocation in the face of unadulterated evil as we have seen from Hamas," he continued. "My ideals have not changed at all. I strongly believe that ending my association with DSA serves my constituents' interests as they expect me to represent them by helping to build a better, more just world, not fanning the flames of hatred," Thanedar said.
