Israel will release 110 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 minors, today as part of a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas. The release, the third since the ceasefire in Gaza began on January 19th, is expected to take place around midday at the Radana area of Ramallah. The list of prisoners to be freed shows 30 are minors, 32 were serving life sentences, and 48 others were serving various prison terms. Additionally, 20 of the released Palestinian detainees will be sent abroad. In the previous two exchanges, seven Israeli hostages were released by Palestinian militant groups in exchange for 290 prisoners, almost all Palestinians except one Jordanian citizen. Today, three more Israeli hostages will be released, along with five Thai nationals who were also taken captive. The report states that the three Israeli hostages being freed are Arbel Yehud, Agam Berger, and Gadi Moses, while the identities of the five Thai nationals have not been disclosed. A fourth prisoner exchange is scheduled for Saturday, which will see the release of three more Israeli men, according to the Israeli Prime Minister's office.
RAMALLAH: Pihak berkuasa Israel akan membebaskan seramai 110 banduan Palestin, termasuk 30 kanak-kanak, hari ini, sebagai sebahagian daripada pertukaran tahanan di bawah perjanjian gencatan senjata dengan Hamas .
Menurut kenyataan dikeluarkan Kelab Banduan Palestin, pembebasan tersebut merupakan pertukaran tahanan kali ketiga sejak gencatan senjata di Gaza bermula pada 19 Januari lalu. “Seramai 110 banduan Palestin dijadualkan dibebaskan hari ini,” kata kumpulan advokasi itu dan mereka dijangka tiba di kawasan Radana, Ramallah sekitar waktu tengah hari.
Senarai banduan yang bakal dibebaskan menunjukkan 30 orang merupakan kanak-kanak bawah umur, 32 telah dijatuhkan hukuman penjara seumur hidup, manakala 48 lagi sedang menjalani hukuman penjara dengan tempoh berbeza.Dalam dua pertukaran tahanan terdahulu, tujuh tebusan Israel telah dibebaskan oleh kumpulan pejuang Palestin sebagai pertukaran dengan 290 banduan dengan hampir kesemuanya rakyat Palestin, kecuali seorang warga Jordan.
Pertukaran tahanan keempat yang dijadualkan pada Sabtu nanti bakal menyaksikan tiga lelaki Israel lagi dibebaskan, menurut pejabat Perdana Menteri Israel.-AGENSI
