The Albanese government is working with Egypt and Israel to try and secure the passage out of Gaza of at least 19 Australian citizens, amid anPrime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minster Penny Wong divulged the details on Friday as they also announced there would now be four evacuation flights from Israel from Friday onwards.Two of these would be Qantas flights to London and then on to Sydney. The other two flights would be to Dubai.

In Australia, the war of words between the government and Peter Dutton continued with Senator Wong accusing the Opposition leader of fomenting civil unrest with inflammatory remarks. These include calling for the deportation of non-citizens spouting race hate, and implying that Labor Minster Chris Bowen and Ed Husic were anti-Israeli.

“People can work out who seeks to divide, who seeks to bring people together. I’m for unity,” she said. “There will be no tolerance given for racial vilification, incitement to violence, racism, or vilification NSW because there is no place for that in our multicultural society,” he said.
