Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri told the public not to give false names, such ‘Badang’, ‘Superman’ and ‘Batman’, and false telephone numbers when they register to enter business premises Read more at
The Senior Minister said this was the reason some businesses are requesting patrons write down their MyKad numbers as some have been lying when visiting their premises during the conditional movement control order .“However, some have resorted to writing their names as Badang, Superman and Batman and putting fake phone numbers.
“If there is a case, it would make contact tracing very difficult, ” said Ismail in his daily briefing on Monday . The conditional MCO has allowed most businesses to operate as usual but standard operating procedures must be followed, such as registering patrons and maintaining social distancing at these premises.
The government has said it is sufficient for a name and phone number to be registered to enable contact tracing should there be a positive case. Some businesses, however, have requested addresses and MyKad details, and the public has raised privacy concerns and fears of these details being made public to strangers, which may lead to abuse.
