PUTRAJAYA: The Jalan Pudu area that has been cordoned off by authorities is not under enhanced movement control order (MCO), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob confirms.
The Senior Minister said the area is not under a total lockdown and its residents are free to move about, unlike at places under enhanced MCO rule."Residents are allowed to move and get food. This is different from places that are under enhanced MCO where there is a total lockdown, and they are not allowed to leave their homes and food is given to them by the government.
"However, we will be screening all the residents in the cordoned area. Those who are found to be Covid-19 positive will be isolated and sent to hospital," said Ismail Sabri at a press conference here on Friday .Pudu saw a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases and the Health Ministry has identified the place as an active cluster for the disease.
On Thursday , Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reported 18 new Covid-19 cases in Pudu, bringing the total to 30.
