Starring Saturday Night Live alumnus Jason Sudeikis in the titular role of Ted, the series follows the hapless American football coach as he attempts to turn around a struggling English soccer team.
However, Lowney's comments don't mean Ted Lasso season 4 can be expected soon, as the filmmaker added, "It’s going to be two or three years before anything happens — if anything happens..." The wait between Ted Lasso seasons has been relatively brief compared to two-year waits for other shows, which has become the norm. Ted Lasso season 2 arrived just nine months after the first season, and season 3 arrived 17 months after season 2.
To ensure Ted Lasso season 4 is just as strong as its predecessors, it's likely that possible that no new season would come in the year 2024. With season 3 concluding in May 2023, and with no news regarding season 4, it is unlikely that the production would see a quick turnaround time. Given Lowney's comments about how long season 4 could take to come to fruition, the Ted Lasso season 4 release date might not be until 2025 or even 2026.
Alongside Juno Temple as Kelley and Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca — who are still very much crucial to Richmond's success — the Ted Lasso season 4 cast would likely remain almost identical. This extends to Jeremy Swift who plays Leslie Higgins and James Lance as Trent Crimm. As a result, it is likely only Sudeikis will not return for Ted Lasso season 4, which may be jarring given his character's titular role.
