Triathlon event Ironman 70.3 has confirmed that its Davao run this year recorded one death among its participants.

The unnamed athlete required medical attention during the race's swimming portion. The Davao swim course was 1.9 kilometers long, starting at the Azuela Cove property, going through the Pakiputan straight before continuing its rectangular shape toward the exit transition. "Our condolences go out to the athlete's family and friends, whom we will continue to support," Ironman 70.3 wrote.
