Iron Chef expands Bay Area restaurant empire with new eatery

Diners can expect dishes such as mapo tofu and black pepper steak.

By mid-November, the acclaimed chef and TV personality is set to open a new Bay Area restaurant — Morimoto Asia Napa. The restaurant is planned for 790 Main St., Napa, in the heart of Wine Country.

“I’m thrilled to bring my Morimoto Asia concept to Napa this November,” said Iron Chef Morimoto in a press release. “The dishes at Morimoto Asia Napa will showcase my travels, and I can’t wait to bring a little slice of Asia to Napa.” The upscale restaurant focuses on dishes that highlight the chef’s travels across China and fondness for pan-Asian and Chinese American cuisine, such as Szechuan mapo tofu, orange chicken and black pepper steak. There will also reportedly be hot and cold appetizers, dim sum options and a full alcohol program featuring cocktails, beer, wine and sake flights.
