Almost half of readers chose one issue as the biggest facing Irish people today
At the time of writing, our poll had received 2,381 votes. Nearly half of those votes went to a single issue.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar previously told the Irish Mirror that it would be a long time before people felt the progress that the Government is making on housing in their own lives. Budget 2024 contained a number of measures aimed at alleviating the effects of inflation and the cost of living crisis on the Irish public. However, a number of people felt that the measures did not go far enough.
Immigration was a popular suggestion. Last month Minister McEntee confirmed that there were 31,000 citizenship applications outstanding in the Irish immigration system.
