Headline inflation in the Irish economy fell to 5.1 per cent in October, down from 6.4 per cent in September, as falling energy prices anchored price growth, partially easing the pressure on households.
The latest Consumer Price Index , the official measure of inflation in Ireland, indicated that prices on a monthly basis rose by 0.3 per cent in October, down from a rate of 1.6 per cent in October last year. Meta Ireland chief Anne O’Leary: ‘We need to work together across the tech industry ... so we keep people safe online’The reduction in price pressure in October came courtesy of a 0.5 per cent drop in restaurant and hotel prices and a 0.2 per cent fall-off in the cost of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.
