Should Met Eireann’s forecast prove accurate and the mercury reaches or exceeds 25 degrees tomorrow, it will top the highest temperature recorded this year to date, 24.6 degrees in Clonmel in Tipperary on May 19
Monday looks set to be the warmest day of 2024 so far in Ireland, with temperatures reaching as high as 25 degrees.
While Met Eireann has promised a “very warm day”, there will also be “isolated patches of light rain and drizzle” in Munster, Connacht and west Ulster. Before then, it seems that rain will be limited to outbreaks of rain and drizzle, with Wednesday looking the most promising in terms of sunshine. Tonight, cloud will thicken over the western half of the country with patchy light rain and drizzle developing. Staying dry with clear spells elsewhere. A mild night with temperatures not falling below 10 to 15 degrees. A few mist and fog patches possible in light southerly or variable winds.Tomorrow will be mainly cloudy over the western half of the country with the best of the sunny spells in the east and southeast.
