It says the presence of MACC officers was to get IRB's assistance to complete its investigations.

PETALING JAYA: The Inland Revenue Board today strongly denied that its office on Jalan Raja Chulan was raided by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers yesterday.

The Malaysian Insight had reported today that the IRB office was raided by MACC officers in relation to a Companies Commission of Malaysia investigation. “The IRB wants to clarify that there was no raid as reported by the portal but the presence of MACC officers was to get the assistance of LHDN to complete their investigation papers,” said IRB in a statement.

The IRB voiced its disappointment over the tone of the article that suggested that the IRB was probed by MACC, thus painting a negative picture of the organisation. IRB said it was an organisation that emphasises professionalism and integrity in carrying out its duties as the nation’s revenue collection agency.
