IPOH: Datuk Zamri Man will be removed as Ipoh mayor for going absent without leave (AWOL).

Perak Local Government Committee chairman Paul Yong Choo Kiong said Zamri, who he understood to be unwell, had not submitted any sick leave and had gone missing for months."He didn't give any letter to the Local Government Authorities or even to me saying that he's sick," Yong told reporters after opening the Malaysia Property Exhibition 2019 at Ipoh Parade shopping mall on Saturday .

"He only submitted his sick leave two months after ," he added, but did not detail the exact time frame. "According to the law, a mayor or council president is eligible to take up to 90 days of sick leave. Even this three-month period has been used up," he added. He was first appointed as mayor in 2015, replacing Datuk Harun Rawi."I only learned about him being unwell from the PBT secretary and from the Ipoh City Council, but no information about his condition and whereabouts.
