IPOH: Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin is encouraging shops and buildings in the city to decorate their premises with Malaysian flags.
"To date, the council has put up more than 2,000 flags across the city and the number will continue to grow until National Day," he said.
"While we will organise some events related to National Day, we are still unsure if a countdown event is necessary as we are still in the recovery movement control order . "The celebration will be different this year due to the new norm, but it should not stop us from celebrating National Day. "Any related event will follow the Covid-19 standard operating procedure," he said at the"Fly the Jalur Gemilang" event at the city council on Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil here Monday .
