A man has died after a factory in Melbourne's west went up in flames following reports of a chemical explosion.
The body of the 44-year-old from Hoppers Crossing was located inside the Derrimut factory on Thursday morning."Fire Rescue Victoria responded... following reports of a chemical explosion. Picture: Ian Currie "FRV crews arrived on scene at 9.48AM in under five minutes to find a chemical fire in a warehouse at the rear of the property." Victoria Police said at least 30 people were evacuated from the factory, while about 80 firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.A report will also be prepared for the coroner.
