PETALING JAYA: An investigation into the online sale of Si Hulk brand drinking water will be carried out by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
Its deputy minister Fuziah Salleh said the investigation is being conducted under the Trade Description Act 2011 to curb advertisements related to health products that were believed to be false and misleading.
"If we see something that could be a scam, we need to file a police report. This is so that we can take action against misleading and false advertisements. In a related matter, Fuziah also said companies that market health products must register their company and obtain approval from the Health Ministry before they are even allowed to market the products.
Perak Mufti Datuk Wan Zahidi Wan Teh had said the decision was made after the 221st Perak State Fatwa Committee Meeting which convened from Dec 9 to 11 in 2020.
