Calls are growing for the British consumer goods manufacturer to cease operation in Russia after the company was alleged to have doubled its profits amid the ongoing Ukraine war.
Unilever owns a catalogue of popular brands in cosmetics and household cleaning such as Dove, Rexona and Domestos, as well as Cornetto, Magnum and Lipton in the food industry.
In protest USP campaigners installed a giant mock billboard outside consumer group’s London headquarters on Monday which depicted wounded Ukrainian soldiers in the style of Dove's brand advertisements. Unilever has maintained it stuck by its statement issued in"We understand why there are calls for Unilever to leave Russia," the company said. "However, for companies like Unilever, which have a significant physical presence in the country, exiting is not straightforward.
