Intel has begun rolling out the microcode patch and fix for the vulnerability found in its Raptor Lake-S desktop processor. More precisely, its top-tier 13th
and 14th generation desktop Core i9 SKUs.
“This patch is being distributed via BIOS update and will not be available through operating system updates. Intel is working with its partners to ensure timely validation and rollout of the BIOS update for systems currently in service.” The microcode patch, codenamed 0x129, is being made available as a BIOS update on motherboards, and not as a rollout via operating systems. In other words, you’ll need to visit the product page of your respective motherboard brand, download it, and then install it. Just keep an eye out for the codename.
