Inspectorate launches a probe into G4S prison conduct
The JICS has launched a probe into the conduct of private guards at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in Bloemfontein. Photo G4SThis after claims made by friends of Sujan Miah, an inmate who is serving a life sentence for murder, robbery and defeating the ends of justice, that he had been discriminated against and victimised by G4S officials. Miah has been in the maximum security prison since 2012.
Similar allegations of inmates being mistreated by G4S have been reported in the past.
