JUST IN: The manhunt for an escaped Pennsylvania inmate suspected in several crimes, including the murder of a New York woman, ended Saturday evening, state police said.

Bivens said the escapee was ensnared Saturday in a perimeter of law enforcement officers that was closing in on him in woods about 5 miles north of the city of Warren. As the manhunt was underway, Bivens cautioned that area residents that it is “entirely likely” that Burham is armed, and no one should approach him if they see him. He said Saturday that he was not armed when he was captured.
He was charged with flight to avoid prosecution in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in May. The case was dismissed without prejudice in on June 16, according to court records.
