JAKARTA, June 30 (The Jakarta Post/ANN): The Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced former youth and sports minister Imam Nahrawi to seven years in prison on Monday for his involvement in a bribery case pertaining to a grant to the Indonesian Sports Council (KONI).
Imam was also ordered to pay a fine of Rp 400 million , which would be substituted for another three months of imprisonment if he failed to pay.
Imam's right to run for public office has been suspended for four years after he finishes serving his prison sentence. He was accused of accepting Rp 11.5 billion in bribes and an additional Rp 8.64 billion in gratuities from a number of ministry and KONI officials.
