NSTregion: 'As two strategic partners, Indonesia and France have good defence cooperation

Defence Minister Pranowo Subianto met his counterpart Florence Parly on Monday and discussed bilateral ties as well as ways on advancing the defence industry according to The Jakarta Post.

Arrmanatha said the two ministers agreed to strengthen their defence cooperation into a Defence Cooperation Agreement, which is expected to be reached this year, and serve as a framework for future defence cooperation. In 2017, the two countries signed a letter of intent to increase defence cooperation including maritime security and maritime cooperation.

"This will support efforts to make the national defense industry a part of the 'global production chain',” Arrmanatha said.
