A group of Orang Asli students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Permatang Keledang, Pekan, Malaysia, made history by winning the Junior Creative Category at the 26th International Robot Olympiad (IRO) held in Busan, South Korea. The team, consisting of Matthew Jambai Karong, Fizrey Rovince Ronachai, and Hafiezie Azwanizizi from the Jakun indigenous group, beat teams from Malaysia and 23 other countries. The achievement is a proud moment for the Orang Asli community and the school.

RM946,560 Allocated for Food Supply for Orang Asli Communities Affected by DisastersThe Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa) has allocated RM946,560 for food supplies to assist Orang Asli communities impacted by disasters like floods and wild animal threats. A total of 6,750 food baskets will be provided for a two-year period, starting from the end of October 2023 until September 2024, for Orang Asli residents in Kelantan and Terengganu who have been affected. The distribution of the food baskets is based on applications and depends on the situation experienced by the Orang Asli communities affected by natural disasters such as floods, emergencies, disease outbreaks, and local community needs.
