This handout photograph taken and released on October 28, 2024 by the Indian Press Information Bureau shows Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi waving to crowd during a roadshow following his arrival in Vadodara in India’s Gujarat state. Sanchez was welcomed to India on October 28 with a flower-filled open-top parade alongside counterpart Narendra Modi, as Madrid seeks to boost investment in the world’s fifth-largest economy.
The project strengthens Spain’s industrial ties with India and shows the Spanish defence industry’s capabilities, Sanchez said. The Spanish prime minister arrived in Vadodara early Monday for a three-day India visit during which he will also travel to Mumbai. The new factory will support local manufacturing of 18,000 aircraft parts, creating opportunities for medium and small businesses across India, he said.
“The C-295 project is a huge accomplishment for the Indian private industry as it is the first project of its kind in which a complete military aircraft will be manufactured in India by a private company.
