The rejected US$1 billion (RM4.56 billion) proposal was for the manufacturer of electric vehicles and EV batteries in India.

India has rejected a proposal by BYD for the construction of a US$1 billion factory in the country in partnership with Megha Engineering and Infrastructure,“Security concerns with respect to Chinese investments in India were flagged during the deliberations,” the report quoted an Indian official as saying. BYD was reported earlier this month as having submitted a US1 billion investment proposal for the manufacture of electric cars and EV batteries in India.
