Aditya-L1 is to observe sun’s outermost layers and will be first vessel by any Asian nation to be placed in orbit around sun
Raychaudhury said the mission probe would study coronal mass ejections, a periodic phenomenon that sees huge discharges of plasma and magnetic energy from the sun’s atmosphere.
“It will also help us understand how these things happen, and in the future, we might not need a warning system out there.” Aditya is travelling on the ISRO-designed, 320-tonne PSLV XL rocket that has been a mainstay of the Indian space program, powering earlier launches to the moon and Mars. The South Asian nation has a comparatively low-budget space program, but one that has grown considerably in size and momentum since it first sent a probe to orbit the moon in 2008.

India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission uncovers key findings on Moon’s South PoleANU Astrophysicist and Cosmologist Brad Tucker has discussed India's Chandrayaan-3 rover's latest discoveries on the Moon. 'It's been really studying the composition of the rocks, now this has been the goal, what is the composition of the soil … and the rocks near these craters that it's landed at,' he told Sky News Australia. 'Now it's found a lot of the things that it's found previously in terms of other moon exploration … but what it's also found is some of these rocks are actually rich in silicon. 'Now this is important; silicon is actually quite a big aspect to potentially building materials when we talk about the moon, and it also means the rocks are more so similar to what we see here on Earth.'
