Independent Venue Week has revealed the first round of participating venues for its 2020 U.S. edition
, which will be the third iteration of the U.K.-founded initiative Stateside.
Each year, Independent Venue Week hosts a week-long series of venue-curated concerts around the country to celebrate the role of independent venues in fostering emerging talent, community and connection. Over 120 independently owned venues in 70 cities across 32 states have confirmed their participation in this year’s event, which is slated to take place from July 6-12. That’s up from 83 venues last year and just 20 in the first year. The U.S. version of Independent Venue Week is produced by music marketing firm Marauder, while Eventbrite has returned as the official ticketing partner. Livestreaming technology company Big Room and Ascend Insurance Brokerage have also boarded as partners.
"Looking at the number of venues signing up this year for Independent Venue Week in the US is incredibly exciting," said Independent Venue Week founder, who launched the initiative in 2014. "Venues across both territories, and in fact, around the world have such a huge role to play in the development of artists and crew as well as local and national culture.
