SHAH ALAM, June 12 — Public servants should be open to change and embrace the Madani concept if they are to move away from entrenched corruption and cronyism, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

“People ask why I’m working so hard; well, we have RM1.5 trillion in debt but the rich keep getting richer. That’s why we taxed them, not you, when we took office. “That’s why I hope we can change our mindset, start questioning irregularities in the system and not allow the rich to control you. Selangor is the bedrock of the federal government and all change starts with us,” Anwar said.

Anwar said public funds that were embezzled could have been used for public infrastructure such as better schools, roads, and hospitals.
