KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — A trader had 5,000 kilogrammes of Raub durians at his Kampung Semat Jal stall in Tumpat, Kelantan snapped up in less than two hours.
According to Shahmi Azani Mohd Tanazi, his stall was stormed by customers on Saturday due to a promotion sale of RM10 per basket. Besides kampung durians, the 29-year-old also sells IOI and kunyit durians although the response was not as good,“I normally start selling durians at 10am and end business for the day at 2pm. But as all my stocks had been snapped up on that day, I closed my stall at noon,” he said.
Besides customers in his neighbourhood, his stall was visited by people from Kota Baru, Tanah Merah and Gua Musang. One of the reasons he has many customers was he would exchange durians for them if their purchases from him were of poor quality.
