(Reuters) - Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios will team up for doubles at next month's Australian Open, and the entertaining local duo is aiming to dazzle crowds at the Grand Slam again.

So suggests a new scientific study, which looks at another aspect of the Japanese diet, often billed as one of the best in the world from a nutritional point of view and for ensuring healthy ageing.

But while the diet seems idyllic from a nutritional point of view, there’s an environmental flip side to the country’s food consumption, with households in their 70s wasting 46kg of food per person per year, according to a study published in the journal Nature Communications. This makes food use less effective. In addition, leftovers are not necessarily eaten. By comparison, in the Eurorean Union, an average of 132kg of food is wasted per person every year.Key factor
