In a Denver suburb, an energy executive built an elaborate 14-acre estate complete with several man-made lakes and an enormous tent decorated with rugs and chandeliers. Now the place is coming on the market for $21 million.

If it sold for its asking price, the property would set a residential sales record for the Denver area, according to Sandye Whitaker of Engel & Völkers Denver Cherry Creek, who is marketing the property with her colleague Scott Stewart.

. The current record was set last year, when a penthouse at the Four Seasons Private Residences Denver sold for $16 million in March 2020, records show.
