Former President Barack Obama didn't mention any U.S. leaders by name in two virtual commencement addresses, but he suggested that some government officials had failed to demonstrate leadership in a time of crisis
WASHINGTON—Former President Barack Obama returned to the national stage on Saturday, delivering a pair of virtual commencement addresses in which he criticized the response by some U.S. leaders to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Obama, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since leaving office, highlighted the impact of the pandemic on students in speeches to college and high school graduates, both of whom saw their school year cut short by the spread of the virus.
