PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister wants government agencies to improve their services and not make the public queue for hours before they are entertained.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he was aware of the"neglect" on the part of certain agencies in ensuring efficiency and this had resulted in long wait times for the people."I always put myself in the public's shoes... what if I have to queue for hours to get approval or a licence," he said at the Prime Minister's Department monthly gathering on Tuesday .

"We need to give the people the best service possible because that is what we have been entrusted with.Also present at the gathering were Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. Anwar said since taking office, he had been advocating the importance of not repeating past mistakes which had caused problems to the country.
