Immigration authorities in Kuala Lumpur raided an illegal parking fee operation run by undocumented migrants, arresting 17 men aged 20 to 30. The operation involved Myanmar and Bangladeshi nationals demanding fees from motorists and charging between RM5 and RM10 per car. The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) conducted the raid in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) at Bukit Bintang and Jalan Berangan.

Dikatakan, kegiatan itu dilakukan membabitkan beberapa warga asing di lokasi terbabit dan aktiviti itu dibuat secara bergilir-gilir. Pengarah Imigresen Kuala Lumpur, Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff berkata, operasi dilaksanakan bermula pukul 1 petang di dua lokasi iaitu Bukit Bintang dan Jalan Berangan.“Semakan mendapati 15 orang melibatkan warga Myanmar dan dua lagi warga Bangladesh.
