Law enforcement personnel of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) rounded up several foreigners believed to have violated a number of offences under the Immigration Act during a series of operations last week.

In ‘Operasi Sakat JIPK 104’ on August 17, at a parking space of a business premise in Mukim Berakas ’A’, a foreign man was found conducting business activities violating Regulation 15 of the Immigration Regulations, which is carrying out a job different from the one stated in the passport.

The trio was taken to the immigration law enforcement office, where it was found two of the foreigners, a male and female, violated Regulation 15 of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17, by engaging in a job different from the one mentioned in the passport. Meanwhile, another foreign woman was believed to have violated Section 12 of the Passport Act, Chapter 146, by falsely identifying herself by using someone’s else passport and violating Section 36 of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, entering the Sultanate after being blacklisted from the country.

Foreign nationals who commit a crime and found guilty, will be produced before court, imprisoned and deported to the country of origin and blacklisted.
