IN LIGHT of the rising Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has reactivated the Operation Bulig Ilonggo Migrants Desk to provide assistance to overseas Filipino workers and their families.The Public Employment Service Office and Provincial Civil Defense Office are launching a 24/7 help desk to offer immediate assistance to those affected by tensions in the Middle East.
To ensure that Ilonggos receive assistance, Officer-in-Charge Governor and Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias is collaborating closely with the Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration .“The governor also gave instructions that our OpCen will proactively call or inform our local government units and even the barangays just in case they receive a report of an Ilonggo affected by the war.
