The Inspector-General of Police said he had been summoned to Istana Negara to brief Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on public order and security following the current political crisis.
"I advised him that the situation was overall peaceful and calm albeit with some anxiety given the current political crisis. "The King advised the police to continue our efforts to keep the peace and I advise everyone not to speculate," he said when met at the gates of Istana Negara Monday .Abdul Hamid said police will continue to monitor the situation and take action against anyone who threatens the peace.Abdul Hamid said he had an audience with the King with Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali, adding that the latter was also expected to give a statement soon.
