KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman welcomes the Dewan Rakyat's decision to pass the The Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) Bill.

They also believe the motion to extend the detention period of suspects under the Security Offences Act 2012 to 28 days would allow them to dispense their duties more effectively.

"The commitment of the Home Ministry and Parliament Members in allowing the extention of Subsection 4 of Sosma and passing of the IPCC Bill showed stromg support in enforcing the laws of our country," he added in a statement on Wednesday . "This development in terms of Subsection 4 of Sosma will give us the opportunity to carry out our responsibilities more effeciently for the sake of the well being of Keluarga Malaysia," said Acryl.

DESPITE strong opposition, the motion to extend the detention period of suspects under the Security Offences Act 2012 was passed in the Dewan Rakyat in the second attempt on the same day.
