Animal rights activists are “hypocrites” as many Western Australian families are going to “really hurt” following the Labor government’s commitment to ban live sheep exports from the country, says Nationals Leader David Littleproud.

He said the Australian sheep industry “acknowledged” its past wrongs and now has the “best standards in the world.” “Some of these other countries just put as many as they can fit on and they get paid on how many is left when they get there,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News host Paul Murray. “That is a perverse animal welfare outcome and for all these animal activists – you should dig deep into your moral compass and realise you are nothing but hypocrites.”
