A 42-year-old woman's body was discovered abandoned in a car outside a Hindu temple in Skudai, Johor, fueling suspicions of murder orchestrated by her husband and his mistress. After a month-long investigation, the police apprehended the husband, his mistress, and an accomplice. According to Oriental Daily, the husband, 48-year-old Heng Tang Lee, his mistress, 45-year-old C.

Susila, and their accomplice, 31-year-old Soo Siau Soon, faced five charges at the Johor Bahru Magistrate’s Court yesterday (January 22). Soo was charged with the murder of the 42-year-old woman in front of the temple at 12:50am on December 1, 2024, under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If convicted, he could face the death penalty, 30 to 40 years of imprisonment, and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane. Heng and Susila faced charges of conspiracy to murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 109 of the same Act. Heng also faces two additional charges: throwing a scissor blade into a swamp near Taman Tampoi Utama, Johor Bahru, allegedly to aid Soo's escape from legal repercussions, and possessing a firearm without a valid license. These offenses are charged under Section 201 of the Penal Code and Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960. All accused individuals understood the charges after an interpreter read them in Mandarin.
