Hurricane Bonnie might send minor wave action to San Diego and Orange County beaches this weekend [Breaking]
The National Weather Service says that Hurricane Bonnie, which is churning southwest of Baja California, could send small pulses of wave action to San Diego and Orange County beaches this weekend, improving surf conditions that have been poor lately.
“It won’t be much, but it could be something,” said Phil Gonsalves, a forecaster at the weather service office in Rancho Bernardo. “Orange County will get the best of it.” It appears that the wave energy would arrive on Saturday and last into Sunday. The surf is only expected to be in the 1-foot to 3-foot range. But the juice from Bonnie could make for bigger sets.
