Huntsville police say a man was shot early Sunday morning while breaking into a home.
According to police, officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Hewitt Street for a burglary call shortly before 1:20 a.m.
A short time later, officers were dispatched to the area around a restaurant in the 4000 University Drive for a call of a gunshot victim, later identified as Troy Shawntell Fletcher, 42.He has been charged with domestic violence-burglary, due to his relationship with the burglary victim, police said. He will be booked into the Madison County Jail once he is released from the hospital.
