GEORGE TOWN: Storm -lashed Penang is left with scenes of destruction amid hundreds of fallen trees in over 130 locations, leading authorities to call for caution and to wait out the torrential weather.
He said fallen trees have been reported in 133 locations on the island since Sunday, while floods were reported in 71 locations. "Among them, 43 locations are in central Seberang Prai district and 28 locations in south Seberang Prai district," he said.Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng said the clan jetties along Weld Quay were damaged after they were hit by strong waves at 12pm today.
"For safety, we advise visitors to refrain from visiting the jetties and coastal areas during high tides," he said.
