A partial human skeleton was discovered on Batu Buruk 2 Beach in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Police are investigating the find with the help of forensic experts. Further analysis is needed to identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
A partial skeleton, believed to be human, was discovered on Batu Buruk 2 Beach last night. The find was reported to police by a member of the public at 10:10 pm. Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor stated that investigations are currently underway with the assistance of the Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department's forensic team.
\The location of the discovery was in a thicket area, beside a dry drainage ditch behind an uninhabited Department of Public Works (JKR) quarters. The area was extremely dark due to the lack of lighting, situated 40 meters from the high tide mark. \Following an inspection, 34 bone fragments were found and collected for further investigation. The collected bones were sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) Pathology Unit and the Malaysian Chemistry Department for further analysis. Further investigations are being conducted to determine if the surrounding area is an old or private cemetery.
