Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made the announcement on February 9 in a joint press conference with President Marcos.The two leaders reaffirmed their continued commitment to the steady implementation of ongoing and future economic cooperation projects through the High-Level Joint Committee on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation.
The investment pledges, the president’s economic team said, would translate to more than 10,000 jobs for Filipinos.Tokyo has also vowed to contribute to the development of quality transport infrastructure in the Philippines, including railway systems in the main island of Luzon, and to help spur equitable regional development especially in Mindanao.
